Sen de onların rehberine /kitaplarına uy." ([En'am 6/90](https://acikkuran.com/6/90)) Mekke'de bilinen ilahi kitaplar, sadece Tevrat ve İncil idi ([En'am 6/156](https://acikkuran.com/6/156)-[157](https://acikkuran.com/6/157)). Kur'an'da hüküm olmayan konularda onlara başvurulunca herhangi bir eksik kalmamış oluyordu. Nitekim kıble değişinceye kadar müslümanlar Tevrat'a uyarak namazlarını Kudüs'teki Beyt-i Makdis'e yönelerek kılmışlardı ([Bakara 2/143](https://acikkuran.com/2/143)-[144](https://acikkuran.com/2/144)). Kur'an'ın inişi tamamlanınca uyulacak tek kitap o oldu.
