Kulluğun Allah'a özgü olması özgürlüktür, Allah'tan başkasına: bir güce, dünya malına, insanın kendi hevasına, iktidara, düşünceye, kişiye vs. olması ise köleliktir. Kulluk seçiminde tevhid gerçekleştirilmezse inanca dair her şey anlamını ve önemini yitirir, yaşam ve inanç şirke dönüşür. İnsanın yaşamında kulluğun kapsamadığı hiçbir alan yoktur. Müslüman için kulluk insanın ruhen ve bedenen bütün varlığı ile Allah'a bilinçli bir bağlılık ve yönelmesidir.
