' And they say (of the Qur'ân), `This is nothing but a forged lie unprecedent.' And those who disbelieve say regarding this (perfect) truth when it has come to them, `This is nothing but a hoax causing a split (among the people).' ### Ali Quli Qarai When Our manifest signs are recited to them, they say, ‘This is just a man who desires to keep you from what your fathers used to worship. ’ And they say, ‘This is nothing but a fabricated lie.’ The faithless say of the truth when it comes to them: ‘This is nothing but plain magic.’ ### Mahmoud Ghali And when Our ayat (Verses, signs) are recited to them, supremely evident (signs), they say, "In no way is this (anything) except a man who is willing to bar you from what your fathers were worshiping. " And they say, "In no way is this (anything) except fabricated falsehood." And the ones who disbelieved say to the Truth, as soon as it has come to them, "Decidedly this is (nothing) except an evident sorcery." ### Mohamed Ahmed - Samira When Our clear revelations are read out to them, they say: "This is only a man who wants to turn you away from what your fathers used to worship. And those who do not believe say of the truth when it has reached them: "This is nothing but pure sorcery." ### Muhammad Asad For [thus it is:] whenever Our messages are conveyed unto them in all their clarity, they [who are bent on denying the truth] say [to one another], "This [Muhammad] is nothing but a man who wants to turn you away from what your forefathers were wont to worship!" And they say, “This [Qur’an] is nothing but a falsehood invented [by man]!” And [finally,] they who are bent on denying the truth speak thus of the truth when it comes to them: “This is clearly nothing but spellbinding eloquence!” ### Abdel Khalek Himmat — Al- Muntakhab Yet when Our clear and lucid revelations are recited to them they proclaim: "This man -Muhammad- is no more than someone who intends to stand in your way to make you deviate from the path your fathers had followed and to deny those deities they adored with appropriate acts and rites and they add" This Quran is nothing but a pack of lies and a devised pious fraud" And the infidels said when the truth when was presented to them: "This is nothing but the work of magic and sorcery made manifest in him". ### Syed Vickar Ahamed And when Our Clear Signs (verses) are recited to them, they say: "Here is only a man who wishes to get in your way of the (worship) which your fathers practiced. " And they say: "This is only a lie that is invented!" And about the Truth, when it comes to them the unbelievers say, "This is nothing but clear magic!" ### Sahih International — (Umm Muhammad, Mary Kennedy, Amatullah Bantley) And when our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, they say, "This is not but a man who wishes to avert you from that which your fathers were worshipping. " And they say, "This is not except a lie invented."
