Kur'an'da dünyanın yörüngesinden bahsedilmemesi Güneş'in, Ay'ın, gecenin ve gündüzün dünyanın etrafında dolaştığını gösterir. Gündüz, kendindeki aydınlatıcı olma özelliği sebebi ile Güneş ışınlarını aydınlığa çevirir. Gecenin karanlık olma şartı yoktur ([İsra 17/12](https://acikkuran.com/17/12)).
